Highway of Madness: The Unbelievable Tale of the Erickson Twins
In May 2008, two women walking along England's M6 motorway set off a chain of events that baffled authorities and left a trail of chaos. Officers arrived to find twin sisters Ursula and Sabina Erickson behaving erratically and attempting repeatedly to run into oncoming traffic. Remarkably resilient to life-threatening injuries, their actions soon escalated beyond the motorway.
Following the motorway madness, Sabina Erickson was offered shelter by a good Samaritan, whom she tragically killed in a sudden outburst. Her subsequent behavior raised questions about her mental state as she became physically violent and attempted self-harm, eventually jumping off a bridge but surviving yet again.
Psychiatrists diagnosed the Erickson twins with shared psychosis, but the mystery of their actions, driven by a shared delusion of being hunted, remains unsolved. This chilling case, marked by seemingly irrational behavior devoid of substance abuse or recognized mental illness history, continues to intrigue and disturb.
